Benefits of Membership with ACHS
Academic & Homeschooling Support
We provide A.C.E. procedures training for parents, so they can confidently use the A.C.E. resources to homeschool their children. We provide short videos addressing some of the key procedures such as goal setting, assessment, stock management and submitting test results.
Assistance with Home Education Registration (Australia) & Ministry of Education Exemption (New Zealand)
Our team will guide families through the state and territory registration requirements, so you can homeschool with confidence, knowing you meet governmental expectations. We share helpful information and assist you with putting together your child’s education/learning program. We also provide support to families based in New Zealand, who want to apply for an exemption with the Ministry of Education.
Diagnostic Testing & Study Pathways
Whether your child is in early childhood, primary or secondary, our team can assist you in determining a study pathway for your child. When families become a member with us, we recommend your child completes a set of diagnostic tests to help identify their current knowledge and skills, as well as any gaps in their learning. This allows us to personalise their study pathway, accounting for their current ability and interests, rather than simply following their age, grade or government expectations. While we give advice, as the parent you retain the responsibility and authority for your child’s education, therefore making the final decision on this.
Help for Dyslexia
We offer a successful reading and spelling program to our members, which supports students with dyslexia. (Australia only)
A.C.E. Resource Discount (Members only)
Members enjoy a 25% discount on A.C.E. and SCEE resources through the SCEE webstore.
Career Pathway Advice
We offer guidance and career pathway advice to students and families as they consider options for the future.
Experienced & Dedicated Christian Staff
Our team are committed followers of Christ, passionate about serving God’s kingdom by supporting homeschooling families. Our team brings personal experience homeschooling and using the A.C.E. resources, with many who have teaching backgrounds. We understand the value of the A.C.E. resources, the challenges and joys of homeschooling, as well as how to help children thrive academically and spiritually. Some of our staff are trained teachers with many years' classroom experience, who see the benefits of A.C.E. and homeschooling and are able to provide academic support to families.
Progress Reports
Twice a year, we provide a summary of your child’s progress using the test results you submit to us. This is an excellent way of tracking your child’s academic progress and can be presented to potential employers or tertiary institutions. A great check-point to prompt a celebration of your child’s achievements and efforts!
Resource Development
Both our team and Southern Cross Educational Enterprises (SCEE) are continually developing new resources to supplement the current A.C.E. resources. From video lessons to project booklets, and full subject modules, we are always looking for ways to make learning more relevant, simpler, and enjoyable for students.
Annual Awards & Graduation Celebration
Each year, we celebrate students’ achievements, from Kindergarten through to Graduation. This includes the presentation of awards for effort and academic achievements, as well as recognition of graduate certificate recipients at our in-person and online celebrations.
Communication
Our monthly newsletters are the MAIN way we keep you informed with updates on events, resources, and important news. We also send out periodic email updates for important notices, as well as phoning or emailing to check-in with families throughout the year.
Graduate Certificates
Our families can access region-specific certificates for high school students, recognised across the South Pacific. Our graduates have gained entry into a number of institutions of higher education and learning including T.A.F.Es, polytechnics, colleges and universities in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Fiji, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, United Kingdom and United States of America. Please see our Graduate Certificates page for more information.
Relationship with Parents
We prioritise our relationship with you. We are not an impersonal call centre. You can contact us Monday to Friday, during our extended office hours, through phone or email, or asking for one of our dedicated team members to contact you.
